Jewelry Making
This editor is currently in training

My passion in Jewelry Making began over 15 years ago while taking classes at a local college. After a career of 25 years I began pursuing that passion. My studio is located in my home in Central Illinois. The ever-evolving learning process continues as I learn about new tools and techniques to enhance my skills.

My goals as the jewelry-making editor are to provide informative articles that will teach basic to advanced jewelry making skills. Book, DVD, and magazine article reviews as well as reviews on tools and equipment can be found on my site. You will find links to books and products that will help you as you continue to seek new skills in the jewelry-making world.

In my work I use Copper and Silver along with “found” items. These found objects cross over the boundary of their original use, coming together in an unpredictable random nature. Each piece results in a unique interesting design. Working with the random and unknowing to produce a unique end result drives me to continue working towards new materials and techniques.

Etching on copper, enamel on copper, and fold forming are some of the techniques I work with. Collecting antique watches and clock parts, along with other found items contribute to my "Steampunk" line of jewelry.

I work with and develop a variety of patina techniques. Whether it is coloring with fire, buried techniques, or other techniques, I enjoy the surprise and variation that each technique produces.

I welcome questions and comments on my forum section and look forward to sharing your thoughts and ideas with others visiting this Jewelry Making site. I believe you will find the information on this site interesting, informative, and fun!
